Trying to Predict the NFL Draft

Whether you're a fan of the NFL, a fan of sports betting, or a fan of both, chances are, you're thinking about the NFL Draft right now. It's no surprise, seeing as the Draft is on the minds of managers, coaches, scouts, players and pundits all over the country.

With the opening round of the 75th edition of the NFL Draft looming, just about every team in the league is hoping to recapture that magical Steelers draft from 1974. In that year, the Steelers took four players who would go on to be honored in the NFL's Hall of Fame. Those players were Jack Lambert, Lynn Swann, Mike Webster and John Stallworth, and they would lay the foundation for four Super Bowl Titles over the rest of the decade.

With that said, it is unlikely that any one team will find themselves in such a position, however, time will only tell.

In looking at the field, the top three picks appear fairly clear, however, the waters get muddy as we delve into the list.

Fans of online sports betting know that number one is a clear pick. The St. Louis Rams will end up picking Sam Bradford, former quarterback for the University of Oklahoma. Bradford dazzled the scouts with his phenomenal pro day workout, and the Rams won't let this opportunity pass them by. St. Louis is desperate to turn the team around - and it is believed that a franchise quarterback like Bradford might just be the key to doing that.

While the first round will revolve around teams trading up and trading down, look for a lot of activity in the second round in terms of deals. Indeed, barring some catastrophic upset, hot prospects Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy will be set to start the second round.
