NFL Week 2 Picks

The first week of the 2011 NFL betting lines season is in the books, and fans and analysts alike can’t stop talking about it. On the one hand, fans of certain teams got to see their teams stomp a mud hole in their opponents. Conversely, handicappers backing the favorite in some fishing games, were forced back to the drawing board, as the underdogs stood tall. Heading into week two, here are the best bets.

Chicago Bears At New Orleans Saints (-6.5) – If week one of the 2011 season is any indication, the Chicago Bears appear to be better then the team that lost to Green Bay in the NFC Championship a season ago. At the same time, despite losing to Green Bay in week one, New Orleans showed that they have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL. Going into this game, the Bears are a six and a half point underdog, even though they destroyed NFC regular season record holder the Atlanta Falcons, 30 -12. In our opinion, the Saints will rebound after a heartbreaking loss in week one, but won’t cover the six and a half point spread.

Kansas City Chiefs At Detroit Lions (-7.5) – For the first time in nearly a decade, the Detroit Lions are a favorite over one of their opponents. The Lions under the guidance of former 2009 first round pick Matthew Stafford, dismantled a good Tampa Bay secondary in week one, en route to their first win of the season. On the contrary, Kansas City was the talk of the football world, as they got lit up by the Buffalo Bills, 41 to seven. This week, we feel that Matt Cassel and the Chiefs offense will rebound and steal the victory from the new look Lions.
